Michael Reeves
Strategic Attachment Lead Teacher & Psychotherapist
Michael is an Integrative Child Psychotherapist (BACP member). He is also an Educational Psychotherapist, (UKCP reg.) and a qualified teacher. He has completed a 1-year certificate in Systemic Practice and is an accredited Story Stem Assessor. Michael’s psychotherapy training incorporated DDP approaches as well as a variety of the arts-, play-, and story-based techniques. He is trained in the ARC Trauma-Informed Framework (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) and the Incredible Years Parenting Programme.
Michael also has over 10 years’ CAMHS experience, including working as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team for looked after children. He has also worked as a therapist in a variety of community and school-based projects, as well as having also been a Primary School teacher and SENCO.
Michael is passionate about promoting understanding of the emotional needs of our most vulnerable children and how exposure to separation, loss, and other ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) can lead to complex/developmental trauma. In his work with individuals and families, he is dedicated to using relationship and creativity to build attachment security, emotional awareness, healing, and growth. Michael is a significant member of both our education and therapy teams. He is available for therapeutic parenting support, DDP, education consultations and reflective space.
